Mera Peak Climbing is a very popular itinerary that takes you to the renowned Mera Peak (6,476 m). Categorized as a trekking peak, it is part of the Mahalangur section of the Himalayas. Located to the south-east of Everest, the trekking trail for Mera peak passes through the excessively beautiful Hinku valley.
The trip starts with an exciting mountain flight to Lukla airstrip. From Lukla, we ascend slowly eastward, consequently crossing the Zatra La pass and heading towards Mera La pass on the ninth day. Finally, at Khare, we make camp and conduct Ice Climbing practice under the guidance of expert Sherpa climbers.
Mera Peak Climbing: to the summit
Though it is possible to climb Mera Peak in a single day from the base camp, it’s always better to avoid the rush. Furthermore, we must allow proper rest and acclimatization and subsequently make use of high camp to ensure summit success. Ultimately we ascend the three summits of Mera Peak from where we enjoy absolutely stunning summit panorama that includes five of the world’s 8000m mountains- Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu Kanchenjunga, and Makalu.
Hence, the best and most suitable time for climbing is during spring (March to early June) and autumn (September to November). Above all, our highly experienced climbing guides have a proven track record of climbing Mera Peak several times.
