Manaslu Circuit Trek is one of the most spectacular treks in the Himalaya. Because of this, the trek rewards us with an unparalleled alpine experience. Though a challenging trek, it takes you to the Manaslu Region which remained an unspoilt region since it was off-limits until recently. Now, the region is open to organized trekking groups only.
The trail offers a good combination of fantastic mountain scenery and diverse cultural interaction opportunities. It is a prolonged, strenuous trek, that encircles the Manaslu range. We trek towards the north into the river valley of the Budi Gandaki River. Subsequently, sneak behind Mt. Himalchuli (7893m.), Peak 29 (7839 m.) and Mt. Manaslu (8118 m.). Then further, climbing through and crossing Larkya La Pass at 5213 m., this fascinating trek explores areas and the way of life unchanged for decades or maybe, even centuries.
Manaslu Circuit Trek: How is it?
As said before this is a strenuous trek that constantly rewards us with brilliant mountain vistas. The views of Ganesh and Manaslu Himal ranges plus the insights into local cultures through the cross-section of ethnic Nepalese tribes are truly awesome. So, Naturally, the Gurung, Magar, Tamang, and Bhotias (Tibetan) have made this their land and region.
Starting at the Budi Gandaki, the trek goes through a narrow gorge between the Manaslu and Ganesh Himal ranges. Likewise, with steep, almost perpendicular sides passing through the Nupri valley, trekkers are introduced to the ruggedness of the region. Here, the locals appear to have Tibetan features, speech, and customs. Then again, the trail continues parallel to the Tibetan border, with sensational views of Manaslu North, Ngadi and Himalchuli peaks. Crossing the 16000ft (5250m) Larke La pass, the trek offers fantastic views of Himlung Himal, Annapurna range, and their glacier lakes.
- Crossing the highest point at Larkya La Pass (5,360m)
- The unspoiled and less explored trekking route
- Typical ethnic villages and magnificent views of Himalayas
- Rich in Buddhism, numbers of monasteries, Sama and Samdo Villages etc
