Expedition to Mt Shishapangma (8046m), the 14th highest mountain and the last mountain above 8000 meters is one of the popular expedition that we at Himalayan Global Expedition carry out. Mt. Shishapangma lies in Tibet near Langtang peak of the Nepalese border. This mountain was opened for climbing to western mountaineers in 1978 by the Chinese authority.

Shishapangma is considered as one of the most straightforward mountain peaks for climbing in Tibet (China). The North-west Ridge is quite easy and the success rate of summiting Shishapangma is quite high. Mount Shishapangma (8046m) was first climbed by H. Ching and Nine Climbers in 1664 and both were Chinese.

Shishapangma base camp is situated at 5000 meters and offers the spectacular views of the mountain and the ridge. Advanced Base Camp of the mountain is located on the glacier on the west side of the moraines at the elevation of 5400m. Shishapangma peak is summitted after attempting three camps during ascent. Ascending fairly steep snow slopes and rock ridge to the solid snow reaches to the summit which offers the enchanting view of Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu and more.

It is easy to climb Mount Shishapangma as compared to Everest and Manaslu but physical and mental fitness is a must to accomplish the climb. A  person with physical and mental fitness and a minimum of 7 hours per day walking ability can complete Shishapangma Expedition easily and happily.

A person with previous experience of the non-technical/technical peak, climbing and trekking in high altitudes can easily complete this trip. We have experienced Sherpa climbers who will help to accomplish Mt Shishapangma successfully.
