Tukuche Peak Expedition (6920m) is located amidst the popular Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Himalayan ranges. Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges are cut deeply by Kali Gandaki river, producing the by world’s deepest Kali Gandaki Gorge. Tukuche Peak stands right in front of the Annapurna Massif and Mt. Dhaulagiri I. Though this region is more popular among trekkers, peak climbing and expedition is relatively less sought after, thus allowing for beautiful pristine scenery, landscapes and experiences. Summit of Tukuche Peak has a wonderful picturesque view of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges, Mt. Nilgiri, Tilicho Peak etc.
During the journey while trekking, we come across some tough challenges through the likes of Thapa Pass, French Pass, Italian Base Camp, and Dhaulagiri Base Camp. Due to the remoteness, the as mentioned earlier, Tukuche Peak area is less visited by the trekking groups thus, is less crowded than other trekking trails.
Tukuche Peak Expedition is gaining popularity because of its remoteness and tranquality!
After arriving and settling in Kathmandu, we prepare for the climb. We fly to the Lake City of Pokhara where we will spend overnight at a hotel. Here you will get to experience the touristic setting of Pokhara city, hear stories from fellow travellers and prepare for the journey to Jomsom the next day. Pokhara is considered as a gateway to the entire Annapurna and Mustang region, which is very popular for trekking and expedition trips.
We take a short but scenic flight to reach Jomsom, a Trans Himalayan town that is the starting point for many trekking and expedition journeys including to Tukuche Peak. After spending a day exploring Jomsom and nearby areas, we descent down the trail to reach Marpha the next day. Here we get to see the famed Marpha apple orchards while taking it slow to acclimatize. From here we head towards Yak Kharka and stay overnight and the next day to further acclimatize ourselves. On the eighth day, we move towards Hidden Valley and camp overnight. We further continue while we come across terraced farmlands and beautiful villages. Further, on we climb the steep slopes of Thapa Pass to finally reach Tukuche Peak Base Camp.
Here at the base camp, we will indulge in hiking, training and acclimatization. Ready with essential gears, equipment and training, we ascend towards the summit by making several higher camps.
If you have any previous climbing experiences and wish to join, please contact us. You will be joining as a Himalayan Global Expedition team member to Tukuche Peak in the Western region of Nepal.
