Broad Peak Expedition by Himalayan Global Expedition to Kangri, Broad peak is the 12th highest peak with its altitude of 8047m. Also known as Falchan Kangri. The mountain is located along the western Baltoro glacier between K2 and Gasherbrum IV in the Karakoram Range in Northeastern Pakistan.

This mountain was named in 1892 by the British explorer W.M. Conway in reference to the similarly named Breithorn in the Alps. It is regarded to be the easiest mountain in Pakistan among 8000m peaks.  Most of the climbers use Broad peak as acclimatizing mountain for K2 because the way from Broad peak base camp to K2 base camp is just around one and a half hours. The mountain has several summits, Broad Peak (8,047m), Rocky Summit (8,028m), Broad Peak Central (8,011m), Broad Peak North (7,550) and Kharut Kangri (6,942m).

Three camps are set up above base camp, with the 4 climbers ferrying loads between them in preparation for a summit bid. The final camp is at about 6950m, at the base of the summit pyramid.

The first ascent of Broad Peak was made on June 9, 1957, by an Austrian team led by Marcus Schmuck and his team including Fritz Wintersteller, Kurt Diemberger, and Hermann Buhl. The team made the summit of Broad peak without using Oxygen.
